Welcome to Ged Green’s Guitar Workshop!

Ged Green builds, repairs and modifies – guitars, basses, mandolins and most other stringed instruments, both electric and acoustic. Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, close to both Manchester and Stockport, near to junction 3 of the M60 ring road.

I have been working with and playing guitar and bass for over 30 years in both a professional and semi professional capacity. Consequently, I understand the standards and needs of working musicians. I know just how important it is to match the instrument to the player. A visit to the workshop, a telephone call or email will put you directly in contact with a wealth of experience and expertise. Guitar repairs and custom building are my main areas of specialism. As a musician, builder and repairer I have the experience to help you make the correct decisions about your instrument, its playabilty, response and sound.

On the site you”ll find resources and information on guitar repairs, bass guitar repairs, custom guitar and bass building; in fact I can probably help with almost any aspect of stringed instrument technology.

Breaking news – June 2010

This the first in a series of Apple iPhone and iPad apps designed to help essentially with the playability of your guitar. Initially the first release is for the Stratocaster, other apps for Gibson guitars etc. will be follow soon. Each stage of the setup procedure for a Stratocaster is covered in detail enabling you to perform your own professional grade set-ups, it is full of tips and techniques covered in high grade video.
